HH Partners took part in the international Mindtrek conference held in Tampere, Finland, from 17th to 19th October 2016, sponsoring the event together with Validos ry. Having established its place in the vanguard of Finnish tech events, Mindtrek attracts each year participants from dozens of countries all over the world to network and to check out the technologies and ideas of the future. The leading themes for Mindtrek 2016 were Open Source, Open Data, Immersion and Smart City.
“Our participation this year was comprehensive“, says Martin von Willebrand, the head of the Technology practice group at HH Partners. “In addition to being a sponsor, we held a workshop on open source compliance and hosted an expert panel on questions related to open source communities. We also had a stand at the event to engage with the conference participants. Exchanging views and spotting new trends is an essential part of the whole conference. It has also been a pleasure to see Mindtrek grow – this year the event filled up the whole Tampere Hall.”
Mindtrek 2016 also saw the Open World Hero 2016 award being given out to Timo Sirainen and Dovecot Oy. With his work and with the help of the community built around the Dovecot email server project, Sirainen has connected together hundreds of millions of people, users and developers alike.
Nearly 1200 people participated in Mindtrek 2016. Next year the event will be held at Tampere Hall from 20th to 21st September 2017.
