Martin von Willebrand as Keynote Speaker at Academic Standards Day in Stockholm

Martin von Willebrand, Partner at HH Partners and co-founder of Double Open, will deliver the keynote speech at Academic Standards Day in Stockholm on March 21. The event is organized in collaboration between the University of Skövde and the Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS) and brings together leading experts to discuss the role of ICT standardization in cybersecurity.

Martin’s speech will address compliance with the requirements set by the EU’s new cybersecurity regulations using open-source software tools, also from the perspective of the OCCTET project. The key EU cybersecurity regulations include the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), and the NIS2 Directive.

EU cybersecurity regulations introduce new requirements for organizations, and the importance of software continues to grow. Standardization is becoming increasingly significant for businesses, developers, future professionals, and society as a whole. Martin’s recognized expertise in open-source technology and legal frameworks provides valuable insights into how organizations should prepare for these regulations. He comments on his keynote speech as follows:

“It is an honor to speak at Academic Standards Day 2025. Standardization and automation play a key role in reducing the complexity of regulations and systems. As the scope of standardization expands to include software, it faces new challenges: software is predominantly open source, and standardization must also reach open-source software developers. This also means fundamental changes in the world of standardization. At the same time, I will present how the OCCTET project brings open-source tools to help comply with CRA, DORA, and NIS2 requirements, with a particular focus on SMEs. I look forward to engaging with students, researchers, and industry experts—welcome to Stockholm on March 21!”
